Account deletion
How to delete your AnonRouter account, how to restore it within 7 days, and what is deleted and what is kept.
You can delete your account yourself in Preferences, without contacting support. Your account closes right away. You have 7 days to restore it by signing in. After that it is deleted permanently and cannot be restored.
Before you delete
- Use your credit or accept losing it. Credit left in your account is not refunded. See Your remaining credit.
- Clear Chat and Studio from each browser you used. They are saved only in your browser, and deleting your account does not remove them. See Chat and Studio in your browser.
- Save any receipts you need from the Billing page. You cannot open your dashboard after your account closes.
Delete your account
-
Sign in, open Preferences in your dashboard and choose Delete account at the bottom of the page.
-
Confirm it is you. How depends on how you sign in:
- Private account: your password, or your 12-word recovery phrase if recovery is turned on. You never need an email address.
- Email account: your password.
- Google account: choose Continue with Google and sign in to Google again.
If your account has more than one way to sign in, you can choose which one to use.
-
Tick the box to confirm you understand what happens, then choose Delete account.
-
Choose why you are deleting your account. If you choose Something else, add a short note. Choose Delete account to finish, or Go back to stop without deleting anything.
You are signed out and taken to the AnonRouter home page.
What happens right away
- Your account closes. You are signed out everywhere, and every API key, management key and connected app stops working.
- Your plan stops renewing, if you have one.
- Auto top-up turns off, if it was on.
- Signing in only shows the restore screen. You cannot use the API, Chat, Studio or Billing with this account while it is closed.
Apps you registered for other people keep working during the 7 days. They stop working for everyone when your account is deleted permanently.
Restore your account
Within 7 days, sign in the way you normally do: with your password, recovery phrase or Google. You see the exact date and time your account will be deleted. Choose Restore account to keep it. Signing in alone does not restore your account.
For your security, the restore screen works for 10 minutes after you sign in. If it stops working, sign in again.
When you restore your account:
- Your balance, your workspaces and the plan time you already paid for are kept.
- Your old API keys, management keys and connected apps stay revoked. Create new keys and connect your apps again.
- Your plan stays set not to renew, and auto top-up stays off.
- A Private account is signed in right away. Other accounts sign in again.
After 7 days your account can no longer be restored.
Your remaining credit
Credit left in your account is not refunded. It is lost when your account is deleted permanently after 7 days. This includes payments that complete during the 7 days. If you restore your account in time, you keep your credit.
Plan time you already paid for is not refunded either.
Chat and Studio in your browser
Chats and Studio images, audio and sessions are saved only in the browsers where you made them. AnonRouter does not store them and they are not linked to your account, so deleting your account does not remove them. We cannot remove them from your other devices, or from copies you downloaded or shared.
To remove them, sign in before you delete your account and open Preferences. Under This browser, use Clear chat history and Clear Studio library. Do this in each browser you used.
If your account is already closed, clear the site data for anonrouter.ai in your browser's settings instead.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted permanently, we delete:
- your email address, username, password, recovery phrase and Google sign-in link;
- your sessions, API keys, management keys and connected app authorizations;
- your workspace and API key names and your routing preferences;
- your free trial and free model records and other account settings.
What we keep
We keep only what we need for payments, refunds, disputes, fraud prevention and the law. None of it includes your email address, username or sign-in details.
- Payment and usage records, such as payments, receipts, refunds, balance changes and the model, tokens and cost of each request. We keep them for 7 years after the end of the calendar year they were made, linked only to an account number that can no longer be used to sign in. This meets tax and accounting record-keeping rules and covers the time in which a card payment can be disputed.
- Security records, such as account restrictions, linked to the same account number.
- A one-way hash of your email address, if your account has one, for 12 months. We use it only to stop the same inbox from getting free sign-up credit again. It cannot be turned back into your address. Private accounts have no email address, so nothing is kept.
Copies of your data can remain in our encrypted backups until those backups expire. Backups are not changed in place. If a backup is ever restored, account deletions are applied again before it is used.
Why you deleted your account
The reason you choose is stored with only the date. It is not linked to your account, and it is kept even if you restore your account. Before a note is stored, we remove links, email addresses, phone numbers and similar details from it.
Signing up again
During the 7 days, your email address and Google account still belong to your closed account. Signing in with them takes you to the restore screen.
After your account is deleted, you can create a new account at any time. It
starts empty: nothing from your old account carries over. For 12 months, a new
account with the same email inbox, including addresses such as
name+tag@example.com, does not get free sign-up credit or a free trial.
Everything else works as usual.
A Private account username can become available to other people after the account is deleted.
Or hand the whole thing to your agent
One prompt carries the entire setup. Give it to your agent, review what it configures, and you are done.
